Well hello there everyone, and happy Monday!
Was your weekend awesome? I hope so!
Mine was very quiet, filled with lots of work/playing catch up/planning for the week to come. I tend to get fairly uneasy when I am not 100% sure I have completed my to-dos – or that I am at least making decent strides towards completion). Therefore, working on weekends provides me some solace.
The post I have for you this Monday is short and sweet, because I will not be going in detail on each piece (see why below) . It features a super fun bright red lace maxi skirt with a slit; for some reason, I took years to wear it! Its color iks fairly unique: the red veers very close to pink, and Wikipedia calls it a Ruby color. I disagree; that said, I have no other suggestions as to the color’s name, but I believe it is very close to the HEX #ed0a46. Yes, I did Google this. Nope, I don’t even feel ashamed.
What I am wearing: Bialik Floral Maxi Skirt, from Nasty Gal, sold out ;Trish Bustier Mesh Skirt Bodysuit Maxi Dress from Boohoo, HERE
This skirt twirllllls and moves so gorgeously! I love it because it is long enough for me to wear it with heels and not look strange (I have a 36″ inseam so that’s rare!) It actually looks best paired with a red crop top based on my experience (that is when I get the most compliments), but I JUST posted a monochromatic red look so I am so happy I went with a different top for this photoshoot 😆. Unfortunately, this skirt is sold out, so I won’t yap too much about it and will instead offer some fun similar options: here, here and here.
About that top… I was planning on wearing a studded faux leather bustier with this, but the proportions felt off. I gabbed a couple of other tops (as well as a package I had received in the mail that morning) and headed to the photoshoot for this look, not sure whether I would make the skirt work well enough to actually shoot it.
Once I got there, I realized that the options I had brought along did not work great either. I had given up and was getting ready to shoot the garment I had just received in the mail… when my photographer suggested I use it as a top! The idea didn’t even come to my mind because… The garment is actually a dress, and a MAXI dress at that. I actually have a post featuring it soon, so I will not talk too much about it either. (That said, it is available here. ) . Rachel helped me camouflage it for it to work for this look, and voilà!
My final touch was a silly little hat I got off Amazon. My hair does not even come close to fitting in it, but I still like it 😀 It is literally sitting on my head and kept falling down every time I would move my head.I need a larger one for big hair days.
That’s it for today, guys! I have a few more fun posts scheduled this week- take a peek at my Instagram stories to see sneak peeks!
Until next time,
